Jodel Bébé D92 – Exposed engine
The Jodel D9, known as “Bébé Jodel” is a single-seat light aircraft from the French company Jodel. It is a low-wing monoplane built in one piece, with a conventional empennage and a conventional undercarriage. More than 800 examples have been built from plans by amateur builders around the world.
The simple design of its wood and canvas structure, making it easy to build without special tools, and the economy of its motor of automobile origin (Volkswagen air-cooled engine) have made the D9 one of the most built by amateurs and flying clubs.
The first copy of the D9 is on display at the Air and Space Museum in Le Bourget.
