About STL Files

Last Update: JANUARY 2025

#1 Why are your files so expensive?

Because they are worth it! 🏆 We ensure top-quality designs, continuous updates, and support for a seamless printing experience.

#2 Can I download your files from other platforms?

No, our files are exclusive to our website. Downloading them from platforms like Thingiverse, Cults3D, or MyMiniFactory means you’re accessing an illegal copy, and we cannot guarantee the quality or provide support. Only files downloaded directly from us come with our full support and updates.

#3 My printer is too small to fit the parts. What should I do?

No worries! As part of our premium service, if you encounter sizing issues, we offer free scaling adjustments. If you attempt to scale the files yourself, the parts may not align correctly during assembly.

#4 Do I need to pay for updates?

No, updates are always free. When we release an update for a model, you’ll receive a notification, and the updated files will be available for download directly from your dashboard.

#5 Can I use any slicer software?

Yes, you can use any slicer you prefer. For additional guidance, check out our 3D printing section, where we offer helpful tips and advice for different slicers.

#6 My prints are having issues with the tail edges or slicing. What should I do?

This issue is often linked to Cura. We’ve provided a solution in our article here: Cura ruined our files.

About Model Kits

Last Update: SEPTEMBER 2024

#1 Do you keep stock of models?

No, we don’t keep pre-made stock. All production begins once your order is confirmed. You can always expect the latest updates or colors to be included with your order.

#2 How long does production take?

Our production is limited by the number of available printers, so once your order is confirmed, it will be queued for production. This can take anywhere from 1 to 7 days. Afterward, production usually takes 24 to 72 hours depending on the chosen quality for your model.

#3 Are your models made from resin or plastic?

We use FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) for durability, as our kits are designed to be shockproof. Resin, while great for details, is fragile and not suitable for our models’ intended use.

#4 Will my model kit have imperfections?

While we strive for high-quality prints, some minor imperfections may remain due to the FDM process, such as slight color variations from PLA fusion, small line offsets, and seams. If a significant defect occurs during printing, the part is discarded. All parts are cleaned before packaging, but small imperfections may still be visible.

#5 What level of detail can I expect?

Dimville Factory follows a clean, minimalist design philosophy. All our models are designed with simplicity in mind, but you’re welcome to add your own details to make them unique.

#6 Can I remove print lines and paint my models?

Yes, you can! To achieve the best results, start with white PLA. Sand the lines down with 120-grit sandpaper, then finish with 600-grit. Before painting, use a primer filler and smooth it with 600-grit wet sandpaper. After priming, you can apply your paint and finish with a clear coat. Plastic primer is optional.

#7 Do you ship worldwide with tracking?

Yes, we ship to all countries with a tracking number included, so you can monitor your order every step of the way.
