Our Dimville Resin Kits Are Now Available!

If you’re familiar with our PLA kits, please note a few important differences before purchasing a resin kit:

Key Differences

-Size

Each resin kit features a standard body length of 190mm.

-Material

Resin is more brittle than PLA but much easier to glue and sand.

-Adjustments

Resin printing allows for much finer detail, especially at smaller scales. Some parts may show minor warping, and flat surfaces might curve slightly. Don’t worry—a light sanding with 120-grit sandpaper will easily smooth these out.

-Painting

The smooth finish of resin makes painting easier and generally requires minimal sanding.

-Support Marks

Some parts require support during printing, which may leave small marks once removed. These spots can be easily eliminated with light sanding for a flawless finish.

-Uneven Grey with Cloudy Patterns

Depending on the resin used, you might notice grey “clouds” or slight discolorations. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect the kit’s integrity or appearance once painted.

Additional Tips

-Handling & Safety

Resin parts can be fragile—handle them carefully during assembly. Always work in a well-ventilated area when sanding or painting.

-Assembly

For the best results, use cyanoacrylate (super glue). Be sure to test-fit all parts before gluing.

-Cleaning Before Painting

Wash all resin parts with mild soap and water to remove any residual mold release agents before painting.

-Priming

Applying a primer before painting helps paint adhere better and reveals any areas that may need additional sanding.

-Storage & Temperature

Store your kit in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or heat, which may cause resin parts to warp over time.
